What is this class about?
Use the principles of art to create "3D" projects. This means we make sculptures. No, we don't use clay, but we put together and take away material to make some pretty rad three-dimensional artwork. If you love drawing and painting only and the thought of building an object in space scares you, then probably you should take 2D design. You'll be safe there. This class meets three periods per week.
Materials: sketchbook, pencil, and other materials as needed for each project. Please remember to bring your sketchbook to class and your pencil or else you will have nothing to sketch out your sculpture designs with.

Additive Sculpture: Masks (In Progress)
12th Grade students used papier and cloth mache techniques over a wireform mesh to create these one-of-a-kind masks. First, students developed a sketchbook design of the mask, planning their compositions carefully to esure that each design is a unified whole, Partucular attention was paid to the additive process of building up facial features and appendages to each mask. Finally, they decorated each mask based on their original theme.
