Shopping for a gift? The Hygienic Art Gallery in New London kicks off their annual holiday art sale ART= GIFT this Friday, December 4th at 6:30PM. "This year’s show features handcrafted, affordable art by local and regional artists! Showcasing special pieces with gift-giving in mind, all works are priced to be especially affordable for the holiday season." You can also just bring the whole family to window shop the gallery. Rainy Day FUN: The Lyman Allen Museum
Hey Culture Vultures: Did you know that admission to the Lyman Allen Art Museum in New London is FREE to New London residents? www.lymanallyn.org/about-us/hours-admission/ Touring the museum is a fun, family-friendly activity and promotes social distancing indoors. The museum "houses a fascinating collection of over 17,000 objects from ancient times to the present; artworks from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe, with particularly strong collections of American paintings, decorative arts, and Victorian toys and doll houses." DOLL HOUSES!!! Be sure to check out the Sculpture Garden when you are there and get some pics for your INSTA!
The CTTECH District Art Teachers had a professional development there last month and enjoyed the exhibits on display! I particularly liked the stained glass exhibit by Louis Comfort Tiffany. You should definitely check it out!
